Day 36: Kraut Runza Dinner Rolls

So I decided today to not bake something out of the bread book, by request from my mother. She is making a feast for the Super Bowl, and wanted to make sandwich rolls for everyone, so I was recruited to bake them. I used my Aunt Susie's Kraut Runza recipe for the rolls and simply didn't stuff them with cabbage. They taste magnificent, and I actually made a few extra stuff with some cheese. They didn't brown very much, even though I brushed them with butter, but I think I baked them at a lower temperature than intended.
Even though I didn't bake anything out of the book, and have made these before, I feel like it's okay to have a couple cheat days or skip days. I won't do them a lot, but hey bread is bread. This recipe in particular is really delicious because the bread is made with a bit of honey, which gives it a hint of sweetness. I was tempted to make them whole wheat to keep the theme going, but decided against it. Tomorrow we'll be back on the bread bus!
